The news is out. Residential solar water heating systems now cost between $1,500 and $3,500 – compared to $150 to $450 for electric and gas heaters. Solar hot water systems are still significantly more expensive initially… So how is that FREE?

My parents have had Solar Hot Water for thirty years, and wouldn’t have any other system. When inundated by grown up family, they never run out of hot water and enjoy big savings on energy bills. It is also covered for damage by their household insurance policy.

Solar energy is gaining popularity across the world as a free source of power. Unlike other power sources, solar power is energy from the sun which means it is free. This free energy is converted into usable power using solar panels. These solar panels can either be homemade or purchased from solar panel dealers. Solar generated energy is gaining popularity not only because it is free, but more so because it is renewable. As long as there is enough sunlight, there is free power.

Of late there have been remarkable innovations in search for clean energy. Few years ago the world leaders came together to find solutions to global warming and find clean energy sources to replace the traditional depleted non-renewable energy sources. Solar energy is probably the easiest alternative energy resource that is feasible or at least has been in use in some parts of the world for some years now. It is readily accessible to anyone anywhere in the world as long as there is sufficient sunlight with reasonable intensity. In addition to solar energy resource there are other renewable energy resources such as wind and magnetic power generators.

Solar hot water system hooked in to radiators?

We live in an old house with a surprisingly efficient hot-water radiator heat system, and domestic hot water from the same boiler. We used only 600 gals of heating oil last year here in No. Maine, far bleow all our neighbors.
